Co-Innovate are seeking applicants for a project manager job vacancy at Connolly Meats Ltd, based in Scotstown, Monaghan, Ireland. The ideal candidate will require previous experience in product development, project planning and project coordination. The position requires a minimum 2.2 degree in food technology, food science, home economics or similar alternative qualification, Prince2 certification would be an advantage. The role involves facilitating new product development innovation from farm to fork, managing the product lifecycle and using project management methodology and quality management systems for sourcing, review and assessment of new recipes, ingredients and processes, whilst ensuring compliance with all relevant food safety regulations.
Connolly Meats Ltd is a family run manufacturing business based in Scotstown, Monaghan that has been operating for over 30 years. The company produce a range of pork products including bacon, sausage, ham and gammon joints.
Connolly Meats Ltd have identified an opportunity to develop new products in their business. This role will involve providing skilled technical and new product development (NPD) support to the company through facilitating NPD and innovation from ‘field to fork’, meeting all the internal and external requirements of the business and within the expected timeframes and budget expectations.
- Effectively manage a range of innovation and product improvement projects that deliver profitable products
- Work effectively with other key functions such as Technical to deliver new products and improve existing products
- Understand and apply all relevant food safety regulations and laws to all projects such as HACCP, GMP, BRC etc
- Manage implementation and delivery of the NPD Process from concept to launch
- Source, review and assess new ingredients and products for the site
- Manage recipe, ingredient and process changes and record all the relevant information
- Plan and lead factory trials for products including all steps from ‘field to fork’ to achieve all briefed objectives on time
- Ensure all paperwork relevant to the project is recorded and keep up to date
- To organise, participate and present at customer visits on behalf of the company
- To carry out the tasks outlined in the project workplan and liaise with your Company and Academic Supervisors on an ongoing basis
- To train staff so that the new technology is fully transferred and embedded in the company
- To organise and lead monthly technical meetings with the core project team (Company and Academic Supervisor)
- To report formally on a quarterly basis on project progress against the workplan to the Project Management Team
