Co-Innovate are looking for applicants for an exciting job vacancy at Sillis Green Veg Ltd, based in Monaghan, Ireland. The ideal candidate for this role in the agri food sector will have a degree in food innovation or in a food science, food technology or food chemistry related discipline, and ideally with at least 1 year of previous experience within the food industry. The project management job involves market research for new product development (npd) of a range of innovative food solutions for plant-based healthy snack products and vegan meals, including sensory and nutritional evaluation, qualitative consumer research, and gap analysis of the UK and European markets.
Sillis Green Veg Ltd (www.sillisprepveg.ie) is a family El owned business of 50 staff based in Co Monaghan, Ireland. The company is involved in the sale of raw prepared vegetables, ready to eat fruit convenience packs, vegetable ready meals and soups. Approximately 50% of sales are prepared vegetables to food service customers and sold directly to hotels within the local area but most businesses are supplied via a main distributor that sells the company’s products throughout the island of Ireland. 30% of sales are to other food processors that further process the vegetables to manufacture vegetable-based products or add to ready prepared meals. 15% of sales are through contracts in the health sector and the remaining 5% is retails packs into independent butchers and delis.
The post will involve researching and developing plant-based protein fortified snack products for the home and export market. The following are the duties that will be involved:
• Gap analysis of the market in Europe and UK.
• Product development of a range of plant-based healthy protein fortified snack products.
• Sensory evaluation.
• Consumer Insight research.
• Nutritional evaluation.
