KORE Insulation t/a Airpacks Ltd is a well-established insulation manufacturer, based in Co Cavan, with 40% share of the Irish market for EPS (Expanded Polystyrene), manufacturing a range of innovative products under the KORE brand, including KOREFloor, KOREFill, KORELoft, etc. The products are used in applications such as civil engineering, ventilation, draft proofing and energy efficiency.

The company is going through rapid expansion at the moment and would like to hire a project/control engineer to carry out the following tasks to drive further efficiency in the business.

The company would like to design and develop a machine monitoring and data collection system to assist in improving operational efficiency, energy usage and increasing production.

The process control engineer will optimize processes and implement monitoring systems in the manufacturing facility:

  • Reporting to the Operations Director, this is a key role supporting the Site Automations systems in an expanding manufacturing environment
  • Including design, testing, and oversee the implementation of new processes
  • Be responsible for developing and implementing process strategies, managing process resources
  • Optimizing current processes, maintaining process documents
  • Maintaining the efficiency of production to reduce costs
  • Tracking and monitoring energy usage & implementing improvements
  • Project manage new process introductions and equipment upgrades
  • Implementation of ISO50001
  • Design vendor specs and evaluate vendor proposals as required
  • Collaborate with other business functions to understand how automation can improve workflow

This role offers an opportunity to be involved in an exciting 12 month project to design and develop a monitoring and data collection system.

The successful candidate will be supported throughout the project by the Northern Ireland Technology Centre at Queen’s University and will have the opportunity to gain engineering experience in the areas of design, engineering, manufacturing, automation, and the optimisation of manufacturing processes.
