M&I Contracts is a well-established groundworks and general contracting company in the construction sector and is based in County Fermanagh. The company is family owned and operated, employing a team of full-time staff of 13, together with a pool of trusted sub-contractors experienced in all aspects of construction work. M&I Contracts specialises in all types of groundwork, building & Civil Engineering projects, including trenching, sewerage and water schemes, roadways & parks, and housing and commercial building development.

In the past, M&I Contracts has primarily worked as a subcontractor for main contractors. However, in recent years the company has focussed on developing and expanding its business to act directly as a main contractor for private clients and local authorities. As a company M&I strive to be environmentally friendly, sustainable and energy efficient within our construction ethos.

This is a superb opportunity for a Project Manager to join a leading company that will invest in your development and enhance your commercial knowledge.

The successful applicant will be key in the process of embedding within the company the technical capability to design, construct and supply a new type of sustainable house construction that would open up large commercial opportunities and that require a higher level of expertise in structural design. Part of the company’s vision and strategy is to create a market share in energy efficient, zero carbon smart building solutions. M&I Contracts Ltd. aims to develop and implement a new housing system that includes a structural steel frame combined with insulated wall panels that utilize renewable energy sources and smart technology.

In addition to product development, M&I Contracts Ltd. are also focussed on industry certification of its products. To sell to the national and European markets, M&I Contracts Ltd. must be compliant with the European building regulations, which will be one of the key outcomes of the project. An innovative design process must also be developed to link architectural designs to the production and building of the new construction method. The project will also enable the company to develop new construction methods and overcome challenges to ensure the new house construction meets regulatory requirements. In addition, the Project Manager will develop business and marketing plans for this new segment of the company to ensure product penetration with a variety of clients across the construction sector.

If you want to develop a long term career with an entrepreneurial company and you would like to be part of an exciting new project that will give you experience in a wide range of areas, we want to hear from you.

Reporting to the Company Supervisor, you will be employed by M&I Contracts Ltd. to lead this project in partnership with the Institute of Technology Sligo.
